Homecoming Week

Homecoming was invented with Jon in mind.  It just had to be.  He loves everything about this special week. Participating in the Powderpuff game is something he has looked forward to since Ann was in school.  I really think that is why he went out for volleyball so that he could get a varsity letter and join the Varsity Club.  The boys practiced for almost a month on their cheers and halftime dance routine.  Jon would come home so excited and show me everything he was learning.  He was having such a great time!

 All the cheerleaders

Jon's friend DJ is very good at the gymnastic part of cheerleading.  He was doing cartwheels and back flips all night.

Jon and Tino have been good friends for a long time.  Tina won Homecoming King so Jon was very excited for him.  That would be Ian photobombing in the background.

During halftime the boys did their dance routine.  If I knew how to transfer video from my phone to the computer I would post in on here.  Sounds like a job for Ken.

The boys also participated in a Mr. Legs competition.  At lunch everyday for a week the below picture would be set up on a table and the kids voted by putting money in a jar in front of it.  One of the Grote boys won this year.

That is what they call bird legs

Of course Jon was excited about the Homecoming Dance.  All week he was practicing his dance moves.  And I will say he looked extremely handsome in his tux.
I just wish I could get a serious picture of him

 Jon and Ann Marie Spalding

Homecoming taught me that Jon has a whole other life that I know nothing about.  I knew everyone Ann went to school with and hung around.  Jon is the complete opposite.  I have zero idea who half these people are and it drives me crazy!!!!

I know these guys.  Ian and Cameron play hockey with Jon.  Keep this pic in mind, Cameron is heading to Nashville to try his luck in the music scene there.  He actually lived in Nashville this summer playing gigs all around town.

 Jon and Bobby

Jon and Chris.  I know Chris and Bobby because they have been friends since Jr. High.

 My precious Alina

I know her,  I know her.  This is Brooke Andrews, one of Jon's best friends!!!

Trevor was less than thrilled here

Trevor's Dedication

Trevor was dedicated at Central Christian Church Sunday morning.  Believe it or not, our family packed the pews.  Great grandma Sharon and Great grandpa Jim, both grandparents, Uncle Jon, Brady, Aunt Jen, Delaney, Harper and Cody's family were there.

It is my goal in life to get a good picture of Jon

I seem to have a lot of pictures around the changing table

Getting ready for his Rock Star moment

The dedicated Trevor and Carter.  This was Pastor George's last Sunday at the church and the family wanted him to be the one who dedicated them.

Trevor was actually quiet the entire time.  Yay Trevor!!

Grandpa got some playtime in with his buddy in the evening.

Ken yells at me when I get his bald head in the picture so I have to be careful how I angle my shots  : D
Trevor thinks he's crazy too.

 Grandpa cracks him up!!

Notice the blanket laid around his body?  We were waiting for Ol' Faithful to erupt.

Some serious man to man conversation going on

Seriously grandma, quit taking my picture  : D
