Happy 1st month Trevor!!!

Of course I had to lead off with this picture because it is my favorite so far.  This peanut makes the funniest faces.  And boy can he scowl.  I think he gets that from his grandpa  : D

I can't believe it has been a month already since we have been blessed with our little Trevor.  He is so amazing and wonderful!  Ann and Cody took him to see the Dr. today.  He is 8 lbs 13 oz and 21 inches long and very healthy.  As of right now he is still smaller than Jon when he was born  : )

Right now he has a bad case of baby acne.  It is driving Ann crazy but the dr. said it is just normal and will go away on its own, and we think he has colic.  Every night around 6 or 7 he starts crying and not much will calm him down.  Usually at 9:00 pm Ann takes him up to bed and it doesn't take long for him to fall asleep.  He has been sleeping between 4 and 5 hours at a time at night.  During the day he can sleep for hours or not sleep at all.  He is still gassy so we give him drops and it seems to help.

Apparently he is not a fan of monkeys.  : )

When I have him I make sure he gets some play time and isn't always being held.  First we have tummy time on his mat then I turn him over to let him check out all the fun toys.  He has become very nosy and loves to look around at everything.  He is very alert and becoming very strong. When we hold him against our chest he can hold his head up for quite a long time.

I made sure I sang him every song that I could think of that had the words Happy Birthday in it. I am pretty sure "Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen" didn't exactly go with the event, but what the heck.  I think he appreciated it  : )

He is getting tall but is still in newborn clothes.  He needs to grow a little because we have really cute 0-3 months clothes that need to be worn before it gets cold out.

A crazy weekend

There is a reason young women have children and not old ones.  It's because lack of sleep is a lot harder to bounce back from.  I learned that the hard way last week.  Thursday night Ann was exhausted so I told her to go to bed and I would stay up until Ken got home then he would watch Trevor.  Well, Ken didn't get home until 1:00am and then I was up the rest of the night listening for a cranky baby.  I estimate that I got maybe 2 hours sleep that night then had to work the next day.  But Ann was ready to take on the day.

When I got home from work Friday night Trevor was not feeling good.  He screamed and cried for a couple of hours.  We decided he had a bad bellyache so Ken and I both started googling baby gas to see what we needed to do.  Ann took Trevor up to her room to do some bicycle kicks, then we tried a warm bath, then holding him like a football.  Eventually the stomach pains passed and our little angel went to bed.  And so did we.  We went to the camper Saturday night and I slept 14 hours.  Guess this little guy wears me out!

He has become such a good bath taker.
 Superman!

 All better Saturday morning!

Ann had her first soccer game Saturday morning.  We went to the game thinking she wasn't going to play at all.  Surprise!  She played almost 45 minutes.  And it wiped her out!!!  But she played hard, even got a yellow card.  We are all very proud of her!

He is all ready for another crazy week!

Bad week at the camper

Having a trailer as a second home can bring some not so needed stress, especially during storms.  We have only been up at the camper once when a strong thunderstorm went through the area and that was enough for me.  I don't mind being up there during  rain showers or an occasional thundershower but the big ones get me freaked out.  I mean, where are we supposed to go?  Nobody has basements.  There are trees EVERYWHERE!!!  But still we go, and still I worry.

This past week what looked liked an innocent storm did a whopper on our campground.  I had heard on the news that Highland had a lot of trees down, but I didn't think that anything happened to our place.  I was most certain that my friend Greg would have text me if something would have happened to our place.  Luckily I was right, but some other campers weren't so lucky.  When we pulled in Saturday there were trees down everywhere and one camper had a tree go right through the middle of the roof.

But life goes on as they say.  And since we finally had rain, Tom decided to put on a fireworks show.  I'm not talking bottle rockets but "am I at the 4th of the July" fireworks.  I tried getting some pics but I got yelled at for having my flash go off.  Crabby people.

As much as I love being up at the camper, I have been anxious to get home to my little peanut.  He is so darn cute, we just can't get enough of him!

I put this toy giraffe in his bassinet and it took him a while to fall asleep because he kept peeking at the thing. He wasn't sure what in the world was next to him.

Hanging at home

Ken gets mad at me because everytime I take a picture of him and Trevor they are laying down on the couch.  I nicely told him the reason for that is because that is all he does  : D

Grandpa can't get enough of this guy.
Nor can Jon
Believe it or not, there are moments when he is not being held.  Those moments don't last long, but they do exist.  He likes his swing for about 10 minutes then he realizes that there isn't another human right next to him so he screams and we all come running.

Trevor is getting a little more alert.  Grandpa is trying to get him to burp, which is not an easy task.  This is one stubborn kid!

Hello World!
One thing I have learned about Trevor's personality is that he is a scream first think later kind of kid.  When any changes happen, i.e. getting moved, changing a diaper, bath, he immediately starts crying.  Then he realizes that situation isn't that bad and calms down.  Until we move him again.

At first he was having nothing to do with bath time.

Then he decided it wasn't that bad

Then mom washed his hair and he was mad again.

 Then he was ok.

See, not so bad

Until mom tried figuring out this hooded towel contraption.  Which needs to come with an instruction manual because she screwed it all up!

 Snug as a bug

Bedtime???  Who is ready to go to sleep?

Just hangin' with my pal Mickey

It's All About Jon

Saturday turned out to be Jon day. It started at 8:00am with his Cross Country Alumni run.  This was his teams fundraiser and all the past and current runners ran together.  Since Jon has joined Cross Country all he does is eat.  Even he is amazed at how much food he is putting down.  Between this and Navy workouts my boy is going to be ripped!!!  And he is loving every minute of it!

Of course Jon is right in the middle of the group.  He can get along with anybody and always has a good time no matter where he is at.  This is how I know he will be just fine when he leaves next year.

Doing some warm up activities.  Jon was the only one in a hat so it was much easier for me to pick him out.

They did some kind of cheer/chant before the race.  I had to look around for a few seconds to make sure I wasn't at a football game.  I want to yell "this is just a track meet right?"

 On your mark

 Get Set

 GO!!!!!!!!

The course is really crazy so I won't even begin to explain how it goes.  But I was happy because Jon did run right by me.  Here is my question, what am I supposed to do when he passes me.  Should I have a bell?  Do I yell GO JON?  Do I just snap pictures?  This is a very new experience for me so I guess I will just wait and see.  But I will say that I am very proud of him for doing this.  His main objective was to stay in shape and use it as Navy training, but he is doing so well the coach thinks he will be one of their top runners!

He'll be coming 'round the mountain....wait....He'll be coming around the dead grass when he comes.....
Jon finished with a time of 21 minutes and some seconds.  I personally think that's great for his first 5K and because of the fact he has never really run long distances before.

As soon as the track meet was over we headed to Troy Park for his Navy DEP meeting.  Every month he has to meet with all the early enlistment guys and they have meetings.  This month the had a picnic and all the parents were invited.  I was excited that I got to see how Jon interacted with all the guys.  Surprise, he did great!  Like I expected anything else.

After the Chief gave his little speech Jon had to run again.  This was what Jon called the platoon run.  They all run in a double wide line and do their little Navy chant.  Jon had a smile on his face the whole time.  Most of these kids leave within the next 90 days.  Jon, so far, is the only 2013 departure they have.

They catered in Bully's then it was off to the beach volleyball court.  I think they were trying to reenact Top Gun but they failed miserably  : )

After the picnic we headed to the camper.  Jon was exhausted and was a little stressed when he found out Brady and Ben were coming.  But since they had the weekend off and Ben had yet to come up this year, the invitation was sent.  Jon got over it and  I had them all in bed by 9:30.  Of course Brady caught the first fish.

Ben caught the biggest fish.  Jon had to help him reel it in and  Brady was very proud of him.  After he caught this he got bored and we went on a golf cart ride that he said brought back memories for him.  I even let him drive.  Once Brady saw this, the fishing poles were put down and we spent the rest of the evening driving around.  First Ben then Brady then Ben then Brady.  I was excited when it started getting dark.

When I looked out my window at 6:30am Sunday morning I saw Brady at our lake fishing again.  I think he was killing time waiting for me to wake up so we could go on another golf cart ride.  I may have created a monster!!!
